That’s Not My Neighbour brings back memories of Papers Please

I remember spending lots of time watching YouTube videos of people playing Papers, Please before I got to play it myself. But I was shocked to find out that it came out over ten years ago!

I first saw Papers, Please on Jacksepticeye’s channel eight years ago (he played it again four years later) and I couldn’t wait to try it. I loved solving puzzles and paying attention to details.

The game, made by Lucas Pope and published by 3039, became super popular, with millions of views on YouTube and millions of downloads on Steam. It won many awards too!

Now, in 2024, a new game called That’s Not My Neighbor by Ignacio Alvarado is getting attention. It reminds people of the old days of playing Papers, Please.

That’s Not My Neighbor:

That’s Not My Neighbor is set in 1955, where you work as a doorman in an apartment block. There have been problems with fake neighbors, so you have to figure out who’s real and who’s not.

You use tools and documents like in Papers, Please to do your job. If you let a fake neighbor in, bad things happen.

Sometimes spotting the fake neighbors is easy, but other times you have to look really closely or even call their apartment to be sure.

At the end of the day, you find out if you did a good job. If you let in a fake neighbor, you get a scary surprise.

One big difference from Papers, Please is that you can’t move documents around in That’s Not My Neighbor, so you have to remember everything.

If you liked Papers, Please or want to try a similar game, I recommend That’s Not My Neighbor. It’s on itch.io for $2.99, and even though it’s not finished yet, it’s still worth playing. More game modes are coming soon too!
